Tree Stewards Program

The Tree Steward program trains dedicated volunteers to care for the many trees the Alliance plants. Tree Stewards go through a class, usually in the late summer and fall, and learn basic tree biology and how to properly plant, water, mulch, stake, and other early tree care practices.

As a graduated Tree Steward, you'll help lead our planting teams during the fall and winter. During the spring and summer, you'll be out assessing, pruning, mulching, watering, staking and otherwise caring for a group of trees.

If you attend the class, we ask you commit to volunteering 4 to 6 hours a month (of course, many of our Stewards do much more).

Interested in becoming a Tree Steward? Our next class begins on Saturday, September 7th (with the other Saturday morning classes on Sept. 15, Oct. 5, and Oct 12). Read more about the class schedule, the syllabus, requirements, and sign up on the Tree Stewards 2024 class page.
